Hey Hey!
Welcome to Menstrual Doula! If you are new, we thank you for taking the time to check us out. If we pique your interest, we are honored and welcome you to join our community! To our existing family, welcome back, and we hope you've been experiencing all the great things we have been manifesting for you: joy, great vibes, poppin' skin, peace, and prosperity.
This blog entry is a recap of our final session from the Empower Moms Program. Let's get to it.
I would wholeheartedly thank all the mothers who decided to participate, educate them, improve their mental health, and enhance their role transition into motherhood. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to participate in the sessions and for the transparency, intimacy, and vulnerability you've all created in this atmosphere. We hope the program was beneficial, provided more insight, and improved your overall mental health.
Session 4: Holistic Approach to Maternal Mental Health
This session was the first and last on-site event on holistic approaches to mental health. The session began with an introduction and a deep warm-up to reinforce self-confidence and self-worth and empower other moms outside of themselves. The session involved activities to promote positive thinking and perspective. Mothers learned different coping strategies alongside resources to take home.
During the event, mothers got a brief break to get the opportunity to mingle and partake in light refreshments with one another, creating a support community. To reinforce that support of mothers, we briefly celebrated a mother whose birthday was the day of the event and came together to show her love and birthday wishes.
The mothers learned mindfulness techniques like body scanning, deep breathing, and countdown exercises to practice at home. The event ended with a 15-minute postpartum stretches and exercises session and a quick 3-minute meditation. At the end of the session, Nicky gifted mothers with goodie bags to take home.
Again, we thank you, moms, for making the program so successful. We encourage you to hold on to and implement the techniques, strategies, and advice other moms gave into your habits and routines as you continue your journey with life and motherhood.
Until next time!
